Choice and Information

Obesity is a complex public health challenge, with a significant cost to both society and individuals. As a major manufacturer within the food and drink industry, we understand the role that diet, including our drinks, can have on health and wellbeing.  Solving a complex global challenge like obesity can’t be done in isolation. We will work with Government, industry and civil society to continue to make progress on this issue.

Our strategy focuses on providing a wide range of drinks choices to fit a balanced lifestyle. In Great Britain, we sell 19 brands and more than 90 different products. In addition to the four Coca-Cola variants for which we are best known, Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero and Coca-Cola Life, our brands include Sprite, Fanta, Dr Pepper, Oasis, Schweppes, Schweppes Abbey Well, glacéau vitaminwater, glacéau smartwater and juice drinks such as Capri-Sun, Five Alive and sports drinks including Powerade.

In 2015, we announced we had reduced the sugar content of Coca-Cola LifeTM even further so that it now contains 45 percent less sugar and calories than regular Coca-Cola.

From March 2015, new labels started appearing on Coca-Cola products, featuring the UK Government’s voluntary colour-coded, front-of-pack nutrition labelling scheme which combines nutrient amounts with percentage Reference Intakes (RIs). These provide colour coding to show how much fat, saturated fat, salt, sugar and energy (calories) is in a product.

We have a long-standing commitment to responsible marketing and as such we will not market to children under the age of 12 because we believe parents and guardians should choose the drinks that are right for their families.
