Glacéau smartwater encourages consumers to 'hit the bottle' in January

Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd. (CCE) has launched a new campaign for glacéau smartwater to tap into the dry January trend and kick-start sales for retailers in the New Year.

Based on the slogan ‘Going dry this January? Hit the bottle’, the campaign will champion those choosing to embrace a month of detox after an indulgent festive period by encouraging consumers to stay hydrated with glacéau smartwater.

Having already grown to a value of £18.4million[1] since launching last year, glacéau smartwater has established itself as a top five immediate consumption water brand[2]. The new campaign will capitalise on the growing popularity of bottled water at a time of year where sales look set to increase as consumers seek out healthier options in the New Year.

Retailers will be supported throughout the campaign with impactful in-store POS and outdoor advertising to drive awareness with shoppers. The campaign will roll out in grocery and convenience channels throughout January.

Made using British spring water which is vapour distilled before electrolytes are added, glacéau smartwater offers a clean, crisp taste which appeals to consumers who are looking to refresh and rehydrate after a busy Christmas.

Caroline Cater, director of operational marketing at Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd, said: “Dry January has become a growing consumer trend in recent years, as people look to start the New Year afresh by finding ways to lead a healthier lifestyle.

“We’re looking to help retailers get their year off to a strong start, which is why we’ve launched this new campaign to engage shoppers at a time when the demand for water and healthier options will be on the increase.”

Glacéau smartwater is currently available in 600ml, 12 x 600mland 850ml pack sizes, with a six bottle multipack set to launch this month.
