Coca-Cola’s iconic Christmas campaign is back - and bigger and better than ever

Coca-Cola celebrates Christmas with:

  • The iconic ‘Holidays are coming’ and a new second TVC ad
  • Coca-Cola Christmas Truck tour
  • Share a Coke with Rudolph
  • The launch of a personalisation digital campaign

Coca-Cola is bringing a fresh and personal twist to its Christmas campaign for 2014, as the much loved Coca-Cola Christmas trucks hit the streets of the nation again this year.

TVC

The famous ‘Holidays are Coming’ TVC will break during the X Factor on Saturday 8th November, and for many, marks the official countdown to Christmas.

The campaign will also feature a new “Give A Little Happiness” TVC ad inspired by acts of kindness which will also air that evening and opens with a scene featuring the iconic Coca-Cola Father Christmas and a number of different acts of kindness through various experiences with friends, families and amongst strangers.

It shows people carrying out simple acts of kindness for the ones they love, to share what they have, when they can – and is set to the heart-warming “Make Someone Happy” soundtrack by Jimmy Durante, which further inspires those happy feelings associated with the festive period. Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour

Coca-Cola also today releases details of this year’s Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour. The Christmas Trucks will be visiting over 40 hotspots and cities across the country and will be supported by a sampling, choir and photo experience. The truck tour will be making stops in high footfall locations, which will help to support local retailers by bringing people to local area.

Share a Coke with Rudolph

Following on from the hugely successful Share a Coke campaign that ran over the summer, Coca-Cola is offering consumers the chance to buy Christmas-themed 500ml packs of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coca-Cola Zero. The set of nine special edition packs are designed to drive incremental sales over the festive period by encouraging shoppers to ‘Share a Coke’ with either Rudolph or one of Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Dancer, Dasher, Donner, Prancer or Vixen.

Festive graphics will also feature on packs of 330ml, 1l, 1.25l, 4x1.5l, 1.75l, 6 x 330ml and 8  x 330ml Coca-Cola and Diet Coke.

Digital campaign

To extend and personalise the theme of giving a little happiness, Coca-Cola will introduce an e-commerce platform and personalised digital greetings card to amplify excitement and engagement online.

The digital greetings card will allow people to send a personalised video message to family and friends.  Echoing the brand’s hugely successful Share a Coke campaign, consumers will be able to visit https://www.cokezone.com/uk/en/coca-cola/make-a-wish to create send a Christmas wish to a loved on by truck, elf, bottle or magic,

The e-commerce platform will encourage gifting with Coca-Cola’s special Christmas gift pack, where consumers can create a personalised Christmas card and have their product wrapped in new festive ribbon packaging.

Nick Canney, VP Sales & Marketing at Coca-Cola Enterprises, said: “Coca-Cola has become synonymous with Christmas and the festive period represents a big opportunity for retailers to drive in-store sales. Soft drinks is the top performing seasonal category at Christmas[1], so we recommend retailers give over the space and display that reflects their importance to shoppers at this time of the year.

“More shoppers buy from the Coca-Cola range than other soft drinks brand at Christmas and spend more on it, leading to a higher basket spend[2]. Our multimedia marketing campaign this year includes TV, digital, out of home, the Christmas truck tour, in-store and PR so visibility will be high. We recommend retailers stayed stocked up on seasonal packs of the Coca-Cola range in the lead up to and over Christmas and New Year.”
