Ocean Spray is a co-operative, owned by more than 600 cranberry growers across North America and Canada and is run from a headquarters surrounded by cranberry bogs in Lakeville-Middleboro, Massachusetts.
The co-operative was formed in 1930 by three cranberry growers who shared a common goal of expanding the market for their crops through innovative products. It introduced the first ever cranberry juice drink to the USA in 1930 and the first juice blend in 1963. The 1970s also saw Ocean Spray first hit the UK, with Original Cranberry Sauce fast establishing itself as a favourite accompaniment to the Christmas turkey.
Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd (CCE) became the official distributor of Ocean Spray on the 16th February 2010 in GB.
