Coca-Cola Enterprises East Kilbride Family Triathlon 2011 Launch

The Coca-Cola Enterprises East Kilbride Family Triathlon was launched on Tuesday 12 July 2011 at the John Wright Sports Centre in East Kilbride.
The event will take place on 28 August at the John Wright Sports Centre, and is the first of its kind in Scotland.
The Coca-Cola Enterprises Family Triathlon is a partnership between Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture. The event is non-competitive and open to families, to encourage everyone to get involved, get fit and have fun. There are three disciplines available for entry:
- Rowing - over 12 years of age
- Cycling - under12 years of age
- Sprint - over 5 years of age
Entry is available online, www.ektriathlon.co.uk, and the deadline for entry is 12 August 2011.
On event day, 28 August, the John Wright Sports Centre will host fun family activities for those who would rather support than participate. There really will be something for everyone.
Included in the entry fee is a £2 donation to Bobath Scotland, a charity devoted to improving the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy. This is achieved through provision of specialist therapy, supporting both the child and their families in a relaxed, non-clinical and fun environment. The family-orientated, holistic therapy enhances a child's play, mobility, communication skills and overall quality of life.
The event was launched by Cllr Hamish Stewart, who was joined by Clare Lappin, fundraiser for Bobath Scotland, Gerry Campbell, General Manager, South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture and Jim Duddy, Operations Director of Coca-Cola Enterprises in East Kilbride. Bobath Scotland was nominated by Coca-Cola Enterprises' employees.
