Friday, December 07, 2007
This January, Coca-Cola Enterprises Limited (CCE) will launch
the latest innovative on-pack promotion which will give football
fans all over the country the chance to win a massive £25k for
their club to buy a top 'Youth Player'. Other great prizes will
also be available including £1,000 cash and a shirt signed by Wayne
Rooney. The promotion will run for eight weeks with a draw for £25K
taking place every week beginning on the 12th January and will
finish on the 1st March.
The promotion will feature on 'Coca-Cola', worth £488million in
retail sales, and 'Coke' Zero, currently worth a massive £60.4
million , having grown by 126.3% since launching in 2006 .
Martin Sampson, Breakthrough Development Controller for CCE comments:
"We understand that the future of British football relies on our ability to develop our youth talent and the Football League is a breeding ground for such talent. With 'Coca-Cola' and 'Coke' Zero we hope to help give some clubs the opportunity to enhance this development."
"Over the last three years, 'Coca-Cola' has been closely affiliated to British football including FIFA ticket giveaways, 'Buy a Player for your club' and most recently, the 'Million Ticket Giveaway' initiative."
"We also know that January is a great time to launch new initiatives. The potential for retailers to boost soft drinks sales in-store increases with 5.7 million adults having an alcohol free January following the indulgences of Christmas and New Year."
Consumers can participate in the prize draw by entering special 12
digit codes on labels of 330ml, 500ml and 2 litre packs of 'Coke'
Zero and 'Coca-Cola'. By entering the code the fan will gain entry
into a weekly draw. At the end of the eight weeks the fan who has
entered the most times for his/her club will have the chance to win
one of 72 'money can't buy' prizes from their chosen club.
Stock will be available from the 24th December and will be backed by a £600K marketing campaign, including weekly editorials in national papers profiling youth league players and sponsorship of Virgin radio's 'Rock 'n' Roll' football.
