Food and Drink Federation

Coca‑Cola Enterprises contributed to the Food and Drink Federation's report on Delivering on Our Commitments about Food and Health. It is a report which shows the very real progress the UK food and drink manufacturing industry has made in delivering the FDF Food and Health Manifesto over the past year. Coca‑Cola in Great Britain is actively committed to the FDF Food and Health Manifesto (opens in a new window).

Introduction

Concern is growing about the rising incidence of obesity in Britain, particularly among young people, and the health risks that this trend poses.

Tackling obesity requires everyone to play their part: parents, teachers, schools, business, local and national government, and, of course, young people themselves.

We're clear about the part we can play. We are proud of the best practice work we have underway in consumer choice, consumer information, and responsible sales and marketing. We will continue to develop this leadership position as it is essential to progress innovative ideas and solutions to tackle the obesity trend.

Within the Coca‑Cola System we've been leading on four fronts, developing policies and programmes:

  • to offer consumers more choice
  • to create better informed choice
  • to ensure responsible sales and marketing
  • youth and sport initiatives
